A short story about writing:

The passive voice was used a lot.
Then I said to myself, "What is this with the passive voice, Sarah? Robert Smithson took the damn photos. Screw this—'the photos were taken...'." And then I wrote some more... and some more.
And I put the passive voice to rest.
